The owners of the existing Coupar Angus battery energy storage system (BESS) at Coupar Angus are inviting Coupar Angus residents to find out more about its proposal to add additional battery units to the system on Pleasance Road.
The Coupar Angus BESS currently holds 120 battery units with associated infrastructure.
The proposal is to add 144 additional batteries within the existing site boundary.
The company has already notified Perth and Kinross Council of its proposal and held its first public exhibition on 14 November at the Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus.
Charlie von Schmieder, investment director at Gresham House, said:
“We won’t be using any new land, adding height or expanding the site to add these new battery units.
“They will be added onto the rows we already have and will be screened by the fencing and planting that’s already in place.
“Battery energy storage helps balance the National Grid and will enable Scotland and the UK to better cope with peaks and troughs in demand.”
People can visit the exhibition 4-7pm on Tuesday 28 November at the Red House Hotel, Station Road, Coupar Angus, PH13 9AL to meet the team, discuss the proposal and provide feedback.
Coupar Ltd is the owner of the existing BESS at Coupar Angus. It is 100% owned by Gresham House Energy Storage Fund plc, a dedicated battery energy storage fund.
