There are 53 community council areas in Perth and Kinross. Coupar Angus and Bendochy Community Council meets on the second Monday of each month. It is your first port of call for raising local concerns such as pedestrian safety, environmental issues and public amenities such as parks. Perth and Kinross is one of 32 local authority areas in Scotland. Formerly there were 41 wards in the Perth & Kinross Council area, each with one councillor. In 2007 these were combined into 12 'multi-wards', each with either 3 or 4 councillors depending on the population. Coupar Angus is part of Strathmore Ward (Ward 2) and has 4 councillors. Sometimes if you want Perth and Kinross Council to do something, it carries more clout if you do so via one of your councillors. Currently only Cllr Sarwar holds constituency surgeries in Coupar Angus (on the last Thursday in the month at the Town Hall 2.00-3.00pm).
