Coupar Angus News and Information

Councillors and other democratic representatives

Coupar Angus coat of arms
1. Coupar Angus Community Council
There are 53 community council areas in Perth and Kinross. Coupar Angus Community Council meets on the second Monday of each month. It is your first port of call for raising local concerns such as pedestrian safety, environmental issues and public amenities such as parks. Normally at least one Perth and Kinross councillor will attend community council meetings (see below). For more information, you can visit the Facebook page of Coupar Angus Community Council.

2. Perth & Kinross Council
Perth and Kinross is one of 32 local authority areas in Scotland. Formerly there were 41 wards in the Perth & Kinross Council area, each with one councillor. In 2007 these were combined into 12 'multi-wards', each with either 3 or 4 councillors depending on the population. Coupar Angus is part of Strathmore Ward (Ward 2) and has 4 councillors. Sometimes if you want Perth and Kinross Council to do something, it carries more clout if you do so via one of your councillors.  :
