Environment and Pollution

Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA)

SEPA is responsible for making sure that your environment is protected from any significant pollution from industrial processes. This includes:

Odours/Emissions
Noise from factory workings/processes
Waste storage/handling

Options for reporting any odour/noise/waste complaints to SEPA

1. By Phone: Phone SEPA's Pollution Incident Hotline: 0800 807060

2. Web Form: Go to SEPA's website at http://beta.sepa.org.uk/PublicEnvironmentalEventForm/, then click on 'Go to Map', type in the postcode of the operator that is causing the problem and click 'Next Page'. At this point a mail form will appear for you to fill in.

3. Contact SEPA officer: Report complaints directly to Stephanie Sinclair, Environment Protection Officer, Perth Operations Team, Scottish Environment Protection Agency Strathearn House, Broxden Business Park, Lamberkine Drive, Perth, PH1 1RX, Tel: 01738 627989 Email: [email protected].

Environmental Health Department of Perth & Kinross Council

Other issues such as pest control and vehicle noise would fall to Perth and Kinross Council's Environmental Health Department to investigate. You can find their contact details here -http://www.pkc.gov.uk/article/3907/Environmental-Health-Team. It might be advisable to use the email address rather than the contact form, as this means you will have an electronic record of your communications.
