Blacketyside Farm is a great example of Scotland’s produce and this is a good opportunity to celebrate and promote Mid Scotland and Fife’s larder’.
The Food and Drink Fortnight has been successful in previous years in raising awareness and showing appreciation for the value of the Food and Drinks sector to Scotland’s economy.
The Brexit vote does present challenges to the sector and the uncertainty around trade, movement of people and sector support is difficult, but it was encouraging to hear about the strengths of these businesses and their plans for the future.
The strawberries and cheese and leek bread I brought home were lovely and likewise the buffalo burgers. Lots of retailers will be promoting Scottish products over the fortnight and we are lucky to have so many in our region. A good opportunity to try something new and support our local economy.
