Kettins Village and Kettins Primary School need your help!!!...local friends in Perthshire, Tayside and indeed anyone visiting the area please vote for us in the Tesco Bags of Help scheme in our local Tesco store (Blairgowrie and maybe others..I'll keep you posted!) from 31st October to 13th November 2016.
Our project, along with two other successful projects in our region, will go forward to a public vote in Tesco stores with their customers deciding the outcome. The more votes we get, the more money we get for our project!
So please vote for Kettins and support us!! Our fantastic project is to make our wonderful and productive school / community food garden and woodland area a whole lot better....more beautiful and also better for nature and wildlife. We will be making exciting metalwork sculptures and a lovely metal arch, all designed with the school children and an artist / blacksmith, and also making some timber wildlife panels. We will be planting wildflowers and native shrubs...a great 'restaurant' for local bees and butterflies! If we get more votes than either of the other two projects in our area we can also plant a community orchard with local heritage fruit trees and provide some seating and even picnic tables.
We are very excited that we have been one of 1,300 projects selected out of 3,000 applications for the scheme - competition for funding was very fierce! We will get a minimum of £8,000, but if you vote for us and we beat either of the other two, we get more!
Please help us get the best out of this project and vote for us in Tesco from 26th September.
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WIDELY SO WE CAN GET AS MUCH SUPPORT AS POSSIBLE!
Also, please publicize our project on Twitter, using the hashtag #BagsofHelp and tagging @Tesco_Scotland. The campaign is mostly Twitter based and I don't have a personal Twitter account so please do Tweet for us!
Many thanks!
Matilda (a Kettins mum!)
