Free visit to ecology centre and organic farm
Coupar Angus Food and Growing Project has arranged an outing to Fife on Saturday 13th April 2019, from 9.30 to 17.00. All ages and abilities are welcome, but booking is recommended as spaces are limited. This is a free trip with a minubus leaving from Coupar Angus. Priority is given to those involved in our community growing activities in the town, FCA volunteers and members or those with an interest in local food. You can book either through Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/326647041319145/, or by contacting Amandla Taylor at [email protected].
The results of our Broadbean peoples vote at the Forward Coupar Angus Christmas party means we are heading to the The Ecology Centre for a morning. Eliza Twaddle, Community Gardener at the centre will show us around and tell us all about the different projects they have going. Check out their website here https://www.theecologycentre.org/
In the afternoon we are will be visiting the Falkland Estate. Meadowsweet Organics is a Seasonal 2.5 hectare organic market garden run by Rosy and David. They have been growing organic vegetables, salads, cut flowers and culinary and medicinal herbs since 2015 at the site and David will be on hand to give us a tour of this bountiful garden. Check out their website here http://www.meadowsweetorganics.co.uk/
Before we head home to Coupar Angus we will drop into Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm and take a look around their shop, cafe and polytunnels and get even more inspired! Check out their website here http://www.pillars.co.uk/
