Alyth Creates, 24th - 26th May 2019
A 3 day festival of Music, Art, Heritage and the Outdoors. This event was started by a few enthusiastic artists and rapidly morphed into an action-packed, multi-platform festival which invites you to enjoy the town, our heritage and the outdoors using music, arts, sporting events and performances. This year it will also exploring our Pictish heritage in the form of informative talks and traditional craft demos.
With over 20 main venues, we also have 30+ artists, craft and art workshops, film, open studios, street performances, outdoor yoga, ghost tours and poetry. Take up the Plein Air painting challenge to win £400. Music of all genres can be heard, classical guitar meets folk on Saturday night, Brass band playing our 11 mile hill race to the finish, techno with flute, drum and poetry thrown in as street performances... Classic car enthusiasts can admire some of the amazing cars on show, you can pop along to the archery or even try paddling a coracle! The town will be full of colour courtesy of our local yarn bombing ladies who have been crocheting and knitting various artworks to decorate trees, benches and more.......
Our 20 page brochure and updates can be found on Facebook. You can also visit www.alythartsandcraftsguild.co.uk website for some details and links to a couple of the events online. Individual events may require booking by phone or online, so don't delay or you could miss out! Stay over and make a whole weekend of it !
